The nearest Airport to reach Sikkim is Pakyong from Bagdogra Airport, and the nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri.

We took 14 days to travel to all the four districts in Sikkim.

The best time to visit northeast India Sikkim is March to December when the weather is favorable.

In January and February Sikkim receives Snowfall.

In July to August Season Sikkim Receives Rainfall it is better to avoid visiting there is a Risk of Landslide.

1 East Sikkim

In Gangtok I spend 2 nights and 3 days in Gangtok keep 1 day for local Sight Seeing in the off-season. You can hire a taxi for a full day of rupees 2500/- for local travel.

In peak season it may cost 3000rs you can also move around local Gangtok on foot or you can travel by car or taxi in short distance point to point traveling within Gangtok you can hire a cab.

Nathula pass you can visit Nathula pass Baba Mandir, Changu lake to go these cities. You need to book your journey in advance because limited vehicles are allowed to travel Nathula pass on a daily basis.

Need to remove permission for that journey and carry id card with you you can hire a cab for Rs800/- You can visit local Gangtok market Mahatma Gandhi road where you can enjoy the weather and local food.

2 North Sikkim

The biggest attraction of North Sikkim is waterfalls and the Scenic view. In Monsoon season you will get to see a new waterfall every few kilometers. We spent 2nights and 3 days traveling to North Sikkim.

If you want to travel north Sikkim in your own car you will need a permit for that otherwise you can travel by taxi or the taxi operator gives permit to travel. For my first night we stay at Lachen.

Day 3 back to Gangtok by the way in order to do justice to North Sikkim need to be at least 4nights and 5Days trip. As per my suggestion you should stay Lachen for 2 nights. Day 1 in Lachen you can visit Gurudangmar lake its a beautiful lake.

After staying in Lachen we left early morning Next day via Yumthang to reach Zero Point. Zero Point is an awesome place you will definitely spend 1-2 hours in that Location. But due to Oxygen Level and frequent changes weathers you won’t be able to spend a too long time there.

By 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm, most of the tourist leave this place. While coming back from zero point you can stop Yumthang Valley. If you come to Sikkim in April and May you see lots of flowers in Yumthang valley.

Because of that place is known as Flowers Valley you can stay at night. After 2 night stay in Lachung on the 3rd day you can come back to Gangtok. In this whole journey we also experienced and explore a lot of traditional food items.

3 South Sikkim

To go to the west and South Sikkim you will need to come back to Gangtok from North Sikkim. Till now explore 8 days planning including travel Gangtok to North Sikkim. You will have to start journey to the South and West Sikkim from Gangtok.

We went west Sikkim via south district if you first go to south Sikkim and then to west. In South Sikkim you can stay 1night in Namchi and one night stay at Ravangla. If you have a short time to travel then you should go to Namchi South Sikkim is more Popular for Holy tourism.

In this part of the tour you can plan 2 night and 3 days in South Sikkim. I visit Buddha park if you go to south then you should definitely visit South Sikkim. You can cover all destinations very well in 2 nights and 3 days plan when you travel from south to west your destination will be Pelling.

It is a most beautiful place enjoy the scenic views as well as the local food after one night spends in Pelling. 2nd Night you can travel to Yuksam. In Yuksam you will find a village atmosphere, waterfalls, trekking locations, traditional food and lot of more.

4 West Sikkim

After spend 2 Night and 3 Days in West Sikkim journey from the west. Jalpaiguri is famous for a Tea garden the garden is very beautiful nice aroma spreading over there and great scenic view. You can end your journey at next Jalpaiguri. If you traveling from Train or you can catch a return Flight from Bagdogra Airport.

Summarize the whole planning journey Gangtok 3Days, North Sikkim 5 Days, South Sikkim 3 Days, West Sikkim 3 Days. It’s all about 14-15 days you can explore Sikkim. In Gangtok, you can get a room from traffic as low as Rs1000/- per day to the high-cost hotels at many places.

As per your own Budget you can choose a hotel you can also research on the Internet and easily identify your options. As per my own Experiences the overall cost of staying in Sikkim in Comparision to other hill station Including food, travel, and Lodging is 30-35% higher.

In Gangtok you will get to see North Indian Food in this whole journey we explore traditional food there are a few dishes I would like to Specially mention. The delicious taste of Khuri with Chutney the taste that I won’t forget for rest of my life.

The combinations of Iskus Buckwheat Flour Roti and chutney made of Dalle Pepper. In the Sikkim tour you don’t miss to eat Gundruk or Chupri if you like traditional food. The best part is that the food is organic and the Vegetables are good for Health.
